Hiking guide – Prehistoric Périgord | Chamina
The department of Dordogne, which corresponds to historical Périgord, is indeed the chosen land of prehistory. Probably because our ancestors found a favorable environment there: cliffs offering shelters facing south, rivers at their foot, favorable climate… This guide invites you to follow in the footsteps of the first men and the clues they have left behind.
The 35 circuits are concentrated in the south – east of the department, and are divided into 8 geographical sectors: Vézère valley, Lascaux, Beunes valley, Dordogne valley, Couze valley, southern Périgord, black Périgord, green Périgord .
