Initiated in 1978, the GR 577, later called “ Tour de la Famenne “, has evolved over time. In this fourth edition, it unfolds more beautiful to reach a total of 197 km (excluding variants Serinchamps Revo désénogne and the “GeoPark” links to Ambly (Nassogne) – Marche – en – Famenne, “Lesse” GRP 577 – GR 17 Chevetogne – Ciergnon, links with train stations and 8 GeoPark Famenne – Ardenne). He now crosses the 8 communes of the Geopark (walking, Rochefort, Wellin, Beauraing, Durbuy, Hotton, Nassogne, Tellin) as well as Exhaust, Houyet and Ciney. Like other large regional loops, it becomes grip (or GRP), marked in yellow and red. The route of the GRP 577 invites hiker to cross the UNESCO Geopark Famenne – Ardenne and its extraordinary geological potential within a territory dug by three rivers with undeniable attractions: the Lesse, the Lomme and the Ourthe.
