Hiking guide – Northern Ourthe Trail – GR57 (Belgium) | The trails of great hiking (French)
If the “trails of the Ourthe” have always been one of the most traveled and the most appreciated, it is because they take hikers in particularly beautiful landscapes or in rich places of culture. Through the Condroz, the Califian, then from the Ardenne, these (re) will discover impressive sites. The rock with falcons or hero are certainly the best known. It is many others, like the Romanesque church of Xhignese, the megaliths of Wéris, the caves of Hotton, the Hermitage Saint – Thibaut, the Celtic fortification of the Chesél, Durbuy “the smallest town in the world”, the The beautiful village of Steinbach, the castle of Clervaux, the almost absolute trail of the course between Nisramont and Wyompont, the corner of Saint – Ode charged with history … How to quote them all?
The GR57 Route – Ourthe Trails is divided into five parts:
1. Ourthe trail (from Liège at the Nisramont Dam)
2. Eastern Ourthe Trail (from the Nisramont Dam in Troisviels)
3. Western Ourthe Trail (from the Nisramont Dam in Libramont)
4. Northern Trail (Troisvierges in Diekirch)
5. BOVERIE PARK CONNECTION – GR5 in Barchon
For this eighth edition, a whole new course is traced, described and marked for the first time. From the Nisramont Dam in Libramont, hikers now have the opportunity – and the pleasure – to follow the Otthe.
